AI-assisted drafting. Original fictional examples are labelled in the guide. Sources checked 7 October 2026.
OfferAlly is a Windows desktop assistant that generates interview-answer suggestions from the context you choose to supply. You can start without a CV, job description or prepared bank, then add them when you want more personal suggestions.
It is important to check the assistant separately from practising your own answers. A working audio meter or a useful generated draft does not establish that you are ready for an interview.
This page summarises OfferAlly's setup guide, FAQ and Privacy Policy. Those pages are the source for current setup and data-handling details.
Check your computer first
The current desktop app is for Windows x64. For version 0.2.1, use a currently supported Windows 11 release. A macOS app, mobile app and browser-only assistant are not available.
AI generation and transcription require an internet connection. Use the official download route and follow the setup guide for activation. If something differs from this summary, use the current download and guide information rather than an old installer or a copied instruction.
Your website account and the Windows installation are separate steps. Creating an account does not mean the app is installed, activated or listening correctly.
Start simply, then add context
You can begin in Interview with a blank default profile. Without your experience or role details, the suggestions are general. Review them carefully and never present an invented or hypothetical story as your own history.
For a specific opportunity, add an optional CV or resume and job description to its profile. Keep separate opportunities in separate profiles so you can check which context is selected before a session.
A question-and-answer bank is also optional. You can leave it empty, add prepared answers or review a generated draft. A bank helps you control the facts and examples you intend to reuse; it does not guarantee a match for every way an interviewer might ask a question.
Check the facts before testing
Review the profile and any prepared answers. Check qualifications, responsibilities, dates and numerical claims. Remove confidential employer information and other people's personal details.
Fictional teaching example. A candidate's CV says they helped a supervisor with weekly rotas. A generated draft says they managed a department. The candidate should replace the draft's claim with their actual contribution before keeping it in the bank. This example illustrates a review step; it is not a real customer story.
The same check applies to answers generated without a bank. Fluent wording does not verify the underlying experience.
Run “Test this profile”
Follow the official guide to choose the intended speakers or headphones and check the audio input. The profile test plays questions through that output: saved questions if available, or sample questions if the bank is empty.
Use the test to check whether the selected output is captured, transcription works and the assistant responds using the intended profile. If the question is not captured, resolve audio routing before changing your answer content.
If a response uses the wrong context, stop and check the selected profile and bank. If the question is understood but a prepared answer is unsuitable, edit or remove it. Prepared-answer reuse and fresh generation are different behaviours.
The test does not grade your spoken answer, provide delivery feedback or give an interview score. Practise your own answers separately.
Understand credits and data
A new AI generation uses a credit, including a draft-bank request. Listening, idle time and directly reusing an existing prepared answer do not use generation credits. Review the current pricing for the available offer rather than assuming a past allowance still applies.
Profiles are saved on your device. Relevant questions, audio and context are processed by service providers for AI and live features. Local interview history is optional and off by default; this does not make all processing local or offline. Read the Privacy Policy for retention and controls.
Check permission before live use
Use assistance only where the interviewer permits it and obtain the required consent for audio processing. Follow the employer's assessment rules. The setup test is not permission to use the app in an assessment.
Screen-capture behaviour varies with Windows, the display setup and the call platform. It is not guaranteed. Do not rely on concealment when deciding whether use is appropriate.
A sensible first session is private preparation: check the profile, test the assistant, review a draft and then explain your own examples aloud. Start with the preparation workflow or use the blank answer-bank worksheet.
